Fourth-tier English soccer side Swindon Town have announced a one-year partnership with Better Leisure Centres.
The company will sponsor the Town End at the League Two club’s County Ground stadium, in a deal which will see the stand renamed as ‘The Better Town End’ for the duration of the 2017/18 season.
Better Leisure Centres will also become the main sponsor of the Robins’ Junior Reds, the club’s junior members, the Pro Red scheme and Chris Neville, Swindon’s head of performance coach.
Adam Wainwright, head of commercial for Swindon Town, said: “We take great delight to both announce and welcome Better Leisure Centres to our growing family of businesses here at the football club.
“The partnership is a superb fit and with it brings great synergy; as we are both passionate about the community, we both encourage a healthy lifestyle and we both will actively use the partnership to promote fitness for all the family. We certainly hope that many of our supporters will be attracted to Better and all their fantastic new facilities.”
Rhys Jones, partnership manager for Better Leisure Centres in Swindon, added: “We are delighted to be supporting Swindon Town through this new sponsorship. Both organisations have many shared values: a community focus, a love of sport and a real commitment to promoting the health and psychological benefits that regular physical activity can offer.
“The club’s players are real sporting role models locally and we look forward to developing our relationship and perhaps nurturing the town’s next generation of footballing talent within the leisure centres we operate.”
Swindon Town dropped to ninth in League Two after their 3-0 defeat at home to Crawley Town last Saturday. They host Barnet in their next fixture on 2nd September.
