Welsh soccer side Swansea City have confirmed Letou as their new front-of-shirt sponsor from the start of England’s 2017/18 Premier League season.
The leading international gaming company replaces BetEast after one season as the club’s main sponsor. In addition, Letou will have a strong brand presence at the team’s home ground, the Liberty Stadium, and across their digital and social media platforms.
Neither the financial terms nor the duration of the agreement have been revealed.
“Swansea City has ambitions to grow our brand in Asia,’’ said Chris Pearlman, chief operating officer of Swansea. “With over a billion people likely to watch the Premier League over the course of the season, a third of the league’s total TV audience, it’s a major partnership that will benefit both parties.
“Letou has a significant global reach, including a strong market share in Asia, and is committed to helping us grow our presence in that part of the world.”
The Swans have also confirmed online security provider Barracuda Networks as their first ever sleeve sponsor, with Premier League clubs cleared to sell sleeve space for the first time for next season.
As part of the agreement, the Silicon Valley-based company will provide the club with its advanced IT security service in order to counter the growing number of advanced cyber threats.
“We are delighted that Barracuda has agreed to join our partnership team,’’ said Pearlman. “Barracuda is a blue chip company in the heart of the Silicon Valley that operates throughout the world and the type of company we want to be associated with moving forward.
“A recent internal review highlighted the fact that our IT security system wasn’t protecting us from every attack and needed a major upgrade.”
