SVT and TV4 have secured the TV rights in Sweden to the Uefa European Championship soccer tournament in 2020.
The public-service broadcaster SVT and commercial broadcaster TV4 will, once again, divide up coverage of the continental showpiece.
The channels successfully shared coverage at the ongoing Uefa Euro 2016 tournament and they will also split the rights to the men's soccer World Cup in 2018.
“The European Football Championship is an incredibly popular event that brings together the Swedish people and I am therefore very pleased that we can offer television audiences this football feast,” said Åsa Edlund Jönsson, SVT's sporting director.
Euro 2020 will be hosted in 13 different European cities in a one-off commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the championship.
London’s Wembley Stadium will host the semi-finals and final of the tournament. Stockholm bid for a package of group stage and knockout games but was unsuccessful.
Portugal will play hosts France in the final of Euro 2016 at the Stade de France on Sunday 10th July. Sweden were eliminated at the group stage.
