Suzuki sponsors Australia’s National Snowsport Championships

The national and internationally recognised authority governing competitive snow sports in Australia, Ski & Snowboard Australia, has signed the Australian branch of the Japanese automobile manufacturer Suzuki as the official sponsor of the upcoming National Snowsport Championships.

Representative of the highest level of snow sport competition in Australia the event will feature national and Olympic Team athletes together with international competitors from over 20 nations.

In addition to Suzuki's financial support, the new sponsorship includes a Grand Vitara Presitge V6, valued at over US$38,000. Total sponsorship is estimated to be worth US$100,000.

Suzuki Australia general manager, Tony Devers, said, "Suzuki has an enviable reputation in producing world-class adventure vehicles that have long been the choice for snow-going motorists, including the Grand Vitara - the first and most awarded compact SUV.

"This competition sees the best-of-the-best competing against one another and Suzuki is extremely proud to put its name to such a prestigious event," Devers added.

Ski & Snowboard chief executive officer, Michael Kennedy, said, "Snow sport is going from strength to strength in Australia right now. It is one of Australia's largest participation sports and we are looking forward to a strong and enduring partnership with Suzuki."

The 2010 Suzuki National Snowsports Championships will begin 7th August and run through until the 28th.
