South African broadcaster SuperSport has snapped up a deal to broadcast live coverage of the Guinness Pro14 rugby union competition, which has added two South African sides for the first time in the 2017/18 season.
The Toyota Cheetahs and the Southern Kings will both compete in the tournament which also includes sides from Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Italy.
SuperSport will air the debut fixture of the Cheetahs when they take on Ulster in Belfast on 1st September, while the Kings' opening fxiture in the competition will be shown on 2nd September when they face reigning champions the Scarlets of Wales in Llanelli.
"This is an exciting property that offers an entirely new flavour," said Gideon Khobane, chief executive of SuperSport.
"There's a particular intrigue in northern hemisphere rugby and to be part of this pioneering change presents an array of possibilities, both for the teams and indeed SuperSport. We look forward to watching the action unfold from this weekend."
