SunGard snaps up Team Saxo Bank and Jim Furyk
SunGard, the Pennsylvania-based software and IT services companies, has signed sponsorship contracts with PGA Tour golfer Jim Furyk and cycling's Team Saxo Bank for 2010.
"I look forward to sharing many successes with SunGard, a company that has an impressive reputation among the business community," said Furyk, currently fifth in golf's world rankings and with the fourth-highest career earnings on the PGA Tour. Furyk will display the SunGard logo on his right and left sleeves.
Meanwhile, SunGard will also pair up with Team Saxo Bank, which counted Carlos Sastre amongst its ranks when he won the 2008 Tour de France and still has 2009 runner-up Andy Schleck on its books,
"We are pleased to be sponsored by SunGard and look forward to developing a strong relationship that will generate business results for both parties," said Bjarne Riis, the team's owner.
