Restaurant chain Stake 'n Shake will return as a primary sponsor of Rahal Letterman Lanigan (RLL) Racing for the 2017 season of the Verizon Indycar Series.
The team, which is owned by former Indycar driver Bobby Rahal, former television talk show host David Letterman and businessman Mike Lanigan, will welcome Steak 'n Shake back as its main sponsor at four races throughout the year, including the season-opener at St Petersburg and the world-famous Indianapolis 500.
In line with similar deals in the Verizon Indycar Series, the top tier of American open-wheel racing, each race is likely to cost Steak 'n Shake around US$200,000, for a total investment of US$800,000 over the season.
“It’s great to have Steak ‘n Shake on board for another season,” said Rahal of the deal. “The pride they have in their company and their enthusiasm for Indy car racing is impressive. The fan support also continues to be a source of pride for the team and we can’t thank the fans enough for all of the positive reinforcement.
"We are going to do everything in our power to produce another race-winning season for Steak ‘n Shake as well as our other partners.”
