Financial services provider St.George Bank has renewed its commercial agreement with National Rugby League (NRL) outfit the St George Illawarra Dragons for a further year.
The Australian bank will continue to be the naming rights partner of the Sydney-based rugby league side, a role that it has fulfilled for the past 39 years and is one of the longest-running commitments in NRL history.
St George Bank will still enjoy a strong brand presence through LED pitchside boards at the club’s two home grounds, the WIN Stadium and the Jubilee Oval, as well as host of hospitality opportunities. It will remain as the Dragons’ front-of-shirt sponsor.
The almost four-decade also partnership includes a strong commitment to grassroots rugby league in the NRL’s only cross-city team’s split headquarters in Wollongong and Kogarah.
"Both organisations are very proud of the partnership and we're excited to see it reach four decades," said Peter Doust, chief executive of the Dragons. "This remains a significant partnership for us and the code, and demonstrates that such mutually beneficial relationships can be valuable and long-lasting – particularly when they involve shared values of community, family, passion and spirit."
St George Illawarra Dragons finished ninth in the 2017 NRL table, missing out on the play-offs by two points.
