Sportradar confirms wide-ranging European handball partnership

EHF Marketing, the commercial arm of the European Handball Federation (EHF), has agreed a long-term multi-service partnership with Sportradar.

The data and digital specialist will become the official data and streaming partner of EHF club competitions, collecting live in-game measurements and statistics at 650 games a year across the men’s and women’s EHF Champions League, EHF Cup and Challenge Cup. Sportradar will also work with the EHF to build and develop the ehfTV.com over-the-top (OTT) platform, which will be based on the new Sportradar OTT product that will be available to sports federations around the world.

In addition, Sportradar will also manage marketing rights to all EHF digital content, and work closely with the federation's in-house team to develop new output across its online and social media channels.

The announcement came ahead of the season-ending Velux EHF Final4 event in Cologne, Germany, which includes the semi-finals and final of the men's EHF Champions League. Sportradar and EHF Marketing have collaborated on the 'European handball goes Tech' business event preceding the games.

"We have recognised the huge importance of providing high quality, accurate data from the EHF’s competitions and we are delighted to have agreed a long-term cooperation with the industry leader, Sportradar," said David Szlezak, the managing director of EHF Marketing.

"For the first time, we will be able to provide clubs, media and fans with extensive live statistics and data from every single European club match throughout the season. We are looking forward to working with Sportradar to realise the full potential of this data. Furthermore, Sportradar’s innovative approach to OTT will allow us to continue to expand our own platform, ehfTV.com."
