The Austrian Football Association (ÖFB), the governing body for soccer in the country, has extended and expanded its partnership with Sporteo.
The deal, which will be activated in July, will see the Liechtenstein-based sports agency become the ÖFB’s strategic marketing partner until June 2022.
Sporteo will be required to sell spaces on pitchside advertising boards for all of the Austrian national team’s home matches, including qualifiers for the Fifa World Cup and Uefa European Championship international tournaments, the new Uefa Nations League competition, and friendly fixtures. The agreement also extends to Austria’s women’s and Under-21 sides.
Bernhard Neuhold, the ÖFB’s managing director, said: “We are pleased to announce that our proven cooperation with Sporteo will continue in even more intensive form. With this newly designed partnership, the Austrian Football Association has succeeded in increasing the total volume of advertising revenues for the national team.”
Hanno Egger, chief executive of Sporteo, added: “The contract for the marketing rights of the Austrian Football Association is a great sign of confidence for Sporteo in the Austrian sports management scene. It fills us with great pride that Sporteo has been awarded the contract for this valuable rights package. The Sporteo team will contribute with great passion to the positive development of Austrian football.”
Austria failed to qualify for the 2018 Fifa World Cup after finishing fourth in their qualifying group. They play a friendly fixture against Slovenia on 23rd March.
