Broadcaster Sport TV has secured the pay-per-view rights to Euro 2012, European soccer's top international event, in Portugal, taking Uefa one step further towards securing deals across the whole continent.

While free-to-air rights are yet to be awarded in the country, Sport TV's rights are comprehensive, including HD, internet and mobile rights for all 31 games as well as magazine and highlights programmes. 12 group-stage matches will be exclusively shown on Sport TV.

"Uefa is delighted to welcome Sport TV as a further member of the exclusive group Uefa Euro 2012 official broadcasters," said a statement from European soccer's governing body.

"Sport TV is a leading pay broadcaster in Portugal and a long-standing partner of Uefa. Uefa is looking forward to providing together with Sport TV a unique viewing experience to Portuguese football fans."
