Sony Pictures Networks (SPN) India has acquired the exclusive broadcast rights to the 2018 Maharashtra Open in eight countries.
The pay-TV channel will show India’s professional men’s tennis tournament in Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives.
The event, which is part of the ATP World Tour 250 series of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Tour, will be broadcast across SPN’s television channels and its digital platforms.
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

“This is a valued addition to our line-up of major tennis events in January starting with Hopman Cup [the hardcourt tennis tournament in Australia], Brisbane International 2018, Sydney International 2018 and Qatar Open 2018 leading up to the first grand slam of the calendar year, Australian Open 2018, making our sports network the one stop TV destination for tennis enthusiasts.”

The Maharastra Open got underway on 1st January, and the final is scheduled to be played on Saturday.
