Sony Pictures Networks to show Formula E in India

Sony Pictures Networks has acquired the Indian broadcast rights to show all races from the FIA Formula E Championship for the 2017/18 season.

The pay-TV channel will air every race from the all-electric racing series, and will also carry Formula E’s Street Racers show, which covers championship news and features from around the world.

“We have strengthened our sports offering with the exclusive media rights for Formula E in the Indian sub-continent,” said Rajesh Kaul, president of sports and distribution at Sony Pictures Network India. “The addition of Formula E in our portfolio is another step towards creating a multi-sport viewing culture." 

Kual added: “Formula E is the future of motorsport and has already amassed a significant global following since its inception. In order to engage our viewers, we are not only airing the live races, but will also present highlights & magazine shows for an enriched viewing experience.

"With the biggest names in motorsport participating in the race series, fans can look forward to the best in racing on our network.”

The 2017/18 Formula E season got underway on 2nd December in Hong Kong, and will end on 29th July 2018 in Montreal.
