Six-figure boost for Jamaican soccer
Soccer in the St Catherine region of Jamaica has been boosted by a US$176,500 investment from telecommunications company Lime.
The three-year deal will see Lime back all St Catherine Football Association competitions, including the St Catherine Major League competition, the premier soccer championship in the parish.
"Lime sees the immense potential in St Catherine football and so we are taking the lead in providing the support and the resources that the parish's football association needs, not just for this year's competitions, but for the overall development of the sport and the players," said Wayne Lawrence, Lime's vice-president of marketing, to the Jamiaca Gleaner.
