Sina Sports scores Chinese Volleyball League deal

Chinese digital sports media platform Sina Sports has picked up the media rights to the 2017/18 season of the Chinese Volleyball League (CVL).

The company will have the right to broadcast the league’s games on its PC and WAP websites and the Sina Sports app.

The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.

Sina Sports’ package will cover 200 games across the season, including post-season games, the league’s play-off finals and its All-Star games.

Additionally, Sina Sports and Volleyball World, the operator and owner of commercial and media rights of the CVL, will collaborate in the development of digital products for the league, as well as on marketing strategies and campaigns aiming to promote the development of the competition.

The agreement adds to Sina Sports’ growing sports partnership portfolio. Over the summer, the company announced deals with the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (PGA of America), and round-the-world yacht contest, the Volvo Ocean Race.
