FC Shakhtar Donetsk have partnered with video solutions firm StreamAMG to offer live streams of the club’s matches.
The three-year agreement means that Shakhtar fans outside the Ukraine will be able to access all of the club’s Ukrainian Premier League home fixtures as well as friendly matches played at their current home ground, the Arena Lviv.
The over-the-top (OTT) subscription service will also provide fans with interviews and on-demand video content. It can be accessed via the club’s website.
Duncan Burbidge, StreamAMG’s chief executive, said: “We are very proud to partner with another major European club in FC Shakhtar Donetsk. The team can rely on us to take the very best available video service to its fans.”
FC Shakhtar Donetsk’s commercial director, Dmitriy Kirilenko, added that the club’s strong international fanbase should render the streaming service successful.
Shakhtar Donetsk currently sit top of the Ukrainian Premier League, 13 points clear of second place Dynamo Kiev. They last won the competition in 2014. Due to the ongoing political tensions in the Donbass region of Ukraine, Shakhtar have been playing home fixtures in the western city of Lviv since 2014.
