SFR Sport picks up rights to Anthony Joshua bouts

French pay-TV broadcaster SFR Sport has landed exclusive rights in France and Belgium and non-exclusive rights in Switzerland and Luxembourg to undefeated British boxer Anthony Joshua’s next three fights.

The network’s coverage will begin with the 27-year-old’s world heavyweight title defence against Bulgaria’s Kubrat Pulev at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales on 28th October, when Joshua - named SportsPro’s most marketable athlete for 2017 - will be defending both his WBA and IBF belts.

The rights package, which was negotiated by SFR’s parent company Altice with Joshua’s promoter Matchroom Boxing, will also provide SFR Sport with seven other major fights during 2017 and 2018.

“This agreement is an immense honour for our group,” said François Pesenti, managing director of SFR Sport. “Each outing of the world's number one heavyweight, the top category of boxing, is a global event. Altice's association with Anthony Joshua once again illustrates its ability to give its subscribers the best of sport.”
