Multinational pay-TV giant BeIN Sports has retained the rights in France to Serie A, the top flight of soccer in Italy.

The deal, which was agreed with the IMG agency, covers the three seasons from 2018/19 to 2020/21, according to various French reports.

Qatar-backed BeIN has been the exclusive home of Serie A in France since 2015, having previously shared the rights with rival network Canal Plus from 2012/2013 until 2014/15. BeIN also has rights to Serie A in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) until 2021.

The agreement comes after Serie A finally managed to offload its domestic rights for the next three seasons in a deal with pay-TV broadcaster Sky Italia and DAZN, the Perform-owned streaming service, which will now launch in Italy after securing coverage of the country’s premier soccer league.
