The Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL) have agreed a multi-year extension of their longstanding local radio rights agreement with Bonneville Seattle Media Group.
The deal ensures that 710 ESPN Seattle and KIRO Radio 97.3 FM remain the official radio broadcast partners of the Washington-based franchise, retaining a role they have held since 1976. Both stations will continue to carry all Seahawks games, including pre-game, play-by-play and post-game coverage.
Additionally, the partnership includes special programming, joint community service projects and exclusive web content. The precise length and financial terms of the new agreement have not been released.
Dave Pridemore, vice president and market manager of Bonneville Seattle Media Group, said: “With great pride, we have operated as the sole broadcast partner to the Seattle Seahawks since 1976 and recognise it has been a privilege for 710 ESPN Seattle and KIRO Radio 97.3 FM to serve as the radio home for the Seattle Seahawks for 42 exciting years.
“In addition, with our several state of the art digital content platforms, a variety of programming and exclusive content, we will provide fans with many opportunities to join the ever-growing Seahawks conversation.”
The Seahawks, who won the Super Bowl in 2013, are second in the NFL’s NFC West division with two regular season games to play. They will be looking to take a step towards securing a sixth consecutive play-off berth when they face the Dallas Cowboys on Christmas Eve.
