Ticketing company SeatGeek has announced new partnerships with two New Orleans-based franchises.
The firm will become the primary ticketing platform of the New Orleans Saints football team and New Orleans Pelicans basketball team, who both previously had deals with Ticketmaster, beginning with the 2018 season.
The new partnerships are SeatGeek’s first formal tie-ups in the National Football League (NFL) and National Basketball Association (NBA). Until now, the company’s sports business has focused primarily on soccer through partnerships with Major League Soccer (MLS), Concacaf, and some teams in the English Premier League.
Using SeatGeek’s open Enterprise platform, the Saints and Pelicans will be able to sell game tickets via their own websites, through SeatGeek, and through other league and team partners.
Tickets will also be available on Facebook thanks to SeatGeek’s recently announced distribution partnership with the platform.
“Our number one priority is our fans, therefore we are partnering with SeatGeek to deliver the absolute best ticketing experience,” said Dennis Lauscha, the president of the Saints and Pelicans, who are both owned by American Tom Benson.
“SeatGeek allows our fans to explore new, innovative and flexible ways to purchase tickets with full ticket authentication. We are extremely proud of this partnership.”
