Scottish Rugby renews with AG Barr for three years

Scottish Rugby has renewed its sponsorship deal with AG Barr for three years.

The extension will see AG Barr remain the official soft drinks partner of Scotland's national rugby union team, as well as the Scottish sevens team and the country's two professional clubs, Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby. AG Barr will receive branding rights for its soft drinks range, including Strathmore Water, Barr Cola and the best-selling Irn-Bru, and will supply products to Scottish rugby players and sell them at games.

AG Barr signed an initial 18-month deal with Scottish Rugby in August 2014.

"It’s an exciting time to be part of Scottish Rugby with the RBS 6 Nations just days away," said Aidan Troy, head of marketing at AG Barr.

“We’re proud of the fact that Strathmore Water is playing an important role in hydrating the Scotland team and that Irn-Bru, Barr Cola and Strathmore are being enjoyed by the fans."

Toni Blackhurst, the head of marketing and sponsorship at Scottish Rugby, added: "We’re delighted to be offering iconic AG Barr soft drinks to rugby fans at BT Murrayfield and Scotstoun Stadiums; and you can’t beat celebrating the Scotland team’s success with an Irn-Bru. We are proud to be associated with such an iconic Scottish brand and look forward to working with AG Barr over the next few years.”

Scotland begin their RBS 6 Nations campaign at home to England on Saturday.
