Scalextric gets Schumacher thanks to Mercedes deal
Scalextric will have the image rights to Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg after agreeing to sponsor the Mercedes GP Petronas Formula One Team.
The slot-racing brand, which sponsored Brawn GP before Mercedes trook control of the championship-winning team, has a similar partnership in place with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. With McLaren drivers Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton as well as Schumacher, Scalextric can boast three current or former world champions.
Scalextric will launch a range of Mercedes GP Petronas Scalextric products during 2010. The financial make-up of the agreement is yet to be revealed.
Last week, Jet Set and Navyboot, two fashion labels owned by the Gaydoul Group, agreed deals to appear on Schmacher's race overalls during his comeback season.
