The National Football League’s (NFL) San Francisco 49ers have announced that they will provide free streaming of each of their four pre-season fixtures live on their own website.

The move sees the 49ers become the first NFL team to activate streaming rights through their own digital portal.

Local San Francisco television station KPIX-CBS will also air all four games, with Bay Area coverage also accessible via the network’s feed being streamed on the 49ers site.

The 49ers play their first pre-season game at their Levi’s Stadium against the Dallas Cowboys, before facing successive away games at the Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts. The final game of the schedule is back on the 49ers’ home turf, where they will take on fellow Californian team, the Los Angeles Chargers.

Star quarterback Jimmy Garrapolo guided the team to victory in the final five games of the 2017 regular season before signing a five-year, US$137.5 million contract in February.
