RTVS secures Slovakian rights to Euro 2012
Uefa has awarded the Slovakian media rights to Euro 2012 to free-to-air broadcaster RTVS.
The deal will see 27 of the 31 matches in the tournament screened live across the two RTVS channels, Jednotka and Dvojka. The remaining four games - which will be the fixtures in the last round of group matches kicking off simultaneously with those screened - will be aired via delayed transmission. RTVS will also broadcast a magazine programme as well as daily highlights, and will carry coverage across its radio, internet and mobile platforms.
The agreement was brokered by Mediator Servicing S.A., an independent subsidiary of the European Broadcasting Union which is also marketing the Euro 2012 media rights for Uefa in Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel and Kazakhstan, as well as the free-to-air rights in Portugal.
Uefa Euro 2012 will be played in Poland and Ukraine from 8th June to 1st July. Slovakia failed to qualify for the finals tournament.
