Slovenia's national public broadcaster, RTV Slovenija, has secured the national broadcast rights for all flagship International Ski Federation (FIS) events until the end of the 2020/21 winter sports season.
The deal covers all FIS World Cup stages, including the popular Slovenian ski events in Kranjska Gora, Maribor and Planica. In a first for RTV, the deal comprises all FIS disciplines, with FIS World Cups in alpine, cross country, ski jumping, Nordic combined, snowboard and freestyle skiing covered by the agreement.
RTV has also secured the rights to both the 2019 and 2021 FIS Alpine and Nordic World Ski Championships, as well as the 2017 FIS Snowboard and Freestyle World Championships.
The negotiations were all handled by international sports marketing company Infront Sports & Media, which is the official rights partner of FIS.
Infront has also announced the extension of its media partnership with the Ski Association of Slovenia (SAS) for a further ten years, covering the the national and international media rights to the aforementioned FIS World Cup events taking place in Slovenia.
