Performance Plus, Kleen Performance's premium motor oil brand, will continue to be the official oil partner of Nascar team Roush Fenway Racing (RFR).
In addition to the team-wide partnership, the lubricant brand will be the primary sponsor of RFR driver Trevor Bayne’s number six Ford Fusion for 'multiple races' in the Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series, North America’s premier stock-car championship.
Neither the financial terms nor the length of the contract were released, but industry trends in Nascar would suggest that Performance Plus will be spending around US$600,000 per race as primary sponsor.
“We are extremely pleased to continue our relationship with the Performance Plus brand and have them on board as our official oil partner,” said team owner Jack Roush. “The partnership reflects Roush Fenway’s commitment to using the highest-quality products in our race cars. Performance Plus not only protects engines, but it provides us a competitive edge on the race track.”
RFR are the most successful team in Nascar history and their founder Jack Roush was the recipient of the 2016 Buddy Shuman Award, which is awarded annually at the NMPA Myers Brothers Awards to individuals and organisations that have played vital roles in the growth of professional stock car racing.
