Liberty National Life Insurance has entered into a sponsorship agreement with Nascar team Roush Fenway Racing (RFR).
The US life insurer will be the primary partner of Trevor Bayne’s number six Ford Fusion car at select races in the North American stock-car series’ elite championship - currently known as the Sprint Cup - during the 2017 season. The agreement will debut at Atlanta Motor Speedway on 5th March and also covers races at Daytona International Speedway, Talladega Superspeedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway.
Although the financial terms of the deal were not released, industry trends in Nascar would suggest that Liberty National Life Insurance will be spending around US$3million for the five-race deal.
"We are excited to have Liberty National on board next season," said Bayne. "They are an extremely well-respected brand that has been providing valuable services since 1900. It's the kind of brand that we are proud to have an association with and I can't wait to see the number six Liberty National Ford on track. Our goal is to put our car up front and compete for race wins."
RFR recently agreed a three-year renewal with primary sponsor Advocare. However, they have revealed that they will scale back to a two-car team next season with Bayne and Ricky Stenhouse Jr, following Greg Biffle's departure.
