Italian soccer giants AS Roma have announced a partnership with American video game company Electronic Arts.
The company, which counts EA Sports as one of its four major divisions, is the creator of the FIFA video game series, with FIFA 19 – the latest instalment in the popular soccer series – set to be launched on 28th September.
As part of the two-year agreement, Roma and Electronic Arts will work together on marketing and commercial collaborations, creating exclusive content for the pair’s respective communication channels.
EA Sports will work with the club in order to improve the Roma-based experience offered to fans of the Italian side, with last season’s Champions League semi-finalists chosen as one of the teams to take part in the upcoming FIFA 19 demo game.
The Champions League, which Roma have qualified for again by finishing third in last season’s Serie A, will also be featured on this year’s FIFA game, with EA Sports having taken the rights which were previously with Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) game.
On the field, Roma have had a mixed start to the new Italian domestic season, winning one of their opening three games.
