Italian soccer giants AS Roma have signed a premium partnership deal with Betway to sponsor the Serie A club’s training kit.
In addition to apparel branding, the three-year deal sees the online bookmaker gain access to wider advertising at the club through the 2020/21 season.
After going without a main sponsor since 2014, when the Roma Cares charity occupied the main space on the front of Roma’s playing tops, the club’s commercial team have been very active in recent months. Roma signed what was described as their ‘largest ever’ sponsorship deal with Qatar Airways back in April and have also penned a partnership with Waze since then.
Kaitlyn Colligan, the club’s director of global business development, said: “Betway are a young and ambitious brand with global aspirations and we are excited about working together to offer our fans exclusive competitions, access and insight from behind the scenes at Trigoria.”
Betway’s chief executive Anthony Werkman added: “We’re very excited to be partnering with a great club like AS Roma, in what is our first partnership in Italian football.
“Roma have a huge fanbase and we hope this three-year deal will give us some great exposure over the course of the next few seasons.”
