Rodac International to supply Formula One team
Former Super Aguri sponsor Rodac International has announced its return to Formula One by agreeing a three-year supply deal with Team Lotus.
Starting with immediate effect, Rodac will provide the Anglo-Malaysian team with tools and garage equipment until 2013, receiving a host of branding opportunities in return. The Dutch company’s logo will now appear on press communications, on the team’s official website, on all race and test trucks and in the Team Lotus garage.
Although financial details have not been officially released, such an agreement is likely to be worth around US$100,000, mostly in value in kind.
Leon Melchior, chief executive of Rodac, said of the deal: “We are very proud that Rodac becomes and official supplier of Team Lotus and that our company name can be added to the list of well known Team Lotus partners and suppliers including Renault, Air Asia, CNN and Pirelli. With our equipment we hope that we can contribute to the success of the team.”
Team Lotus made their Formula One debut in 2010 and has become widely regarded as the best of the three new teams that entered the sport last season. Drivers Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli have been retained for the 2011 season, and, after three rounds, the team has so far registered a best place finish of 13th.
