National Basketball Association (NBA) star John Wall has agreed a shoe supply deal with German sportswear brand Adidas, according to various reports in the US.
According to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports, Wall’s contract with Adidas will run for five years. The financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed.
The Washington Wizards point guard, 27, has been without a shoe endorsement since the end of the 2015/16 season, when he chose not to renew his agreement with Adidas to trial different brands. ESPN’s Nick DePaula reports that Wall turned down an eight-year, US$66 million extension offer at the time.
Wall, who was the first overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft, originally signed a shoe deal with Reebok, but switched to Adidas when the British brand moved its focus away from basketball.
A four-time NBA All-Star, Wall signed a four-year US$170 million contract extension with the Wizards in July last year. The team currently sit fourth in the NBA’s Eastern Conference, and play their next game at home to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday.
