Drinks company Monster Energy has reportedly agreed a sponsorship deal with American golfer Tiger Woods.
According to ESPN, Woods will debut the Monster Energy logo on his bag at the Hero World Challenge, his first tournament in 15 months. Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, confirmed a new sponsor but did not reveal its identity.
The energy drink will replace MusclePharm, which paid the 14-time major champion US$2.5 million in May to terminate its deal, which was designated to run through June 2018
Following on from Nike’s announcement in August that it was stepping back from manufacturing golf equipment, Woods will be using a Bridgestone golf ball at the PGA event for the first time. The financial terms of the Bridgestone deal were not revealed.
