Formula One outfit Force India have reportedly entered into a commercial partnership with whisky brand Johnnie Walker.
According to specialist outlet Autosport, Johnnie Walker’s logo will feature on both Force India cars’ livery from the beginning of the 2017 season. The multi-year deal with the Diageo-owned drink will result in Smirnoff branding being dropped from the rear wing.
Diageo recently acquired a 55 per cent controlling stake of Force India owner Vijay Mallya's alcohol business United Spirits (USL).
Johnnie Walker is a major partner of rival Formula One team McLaren. As of yet, it is not known whether the agreement with Force India would have any effect on the decade-long partnership with the Woking outfit, who have a year remaining on their own sponsorship deal.
