Red Bull Global Rallycross pens Continental deal

The Red Bull Global Rallycross (GRC) has announced a multi-year partnership with Continental Tire.

The tyre manufacturer will be the official tyre provider for competitors in the Red Bull GCR’s three premier racing categories - the Supercars, GRC Lites and Polaris RZRs - for the 2018 season.

In addition, Continental Tire will supply tyres for vehicles in the GRC’s all-electric racing series, debuting in 2019.

The company will hold fan promotions at GRC events and enjoy a presence on the Red Bull GRC’s social media platforms.

Tyre brand BF Goodrich was the official tyre supplier of the GRC series for the 2016 and 2017 racing seasons.

“We’re thrilled to add Global Rallycross to our motorsports portfolio,” said John DeSalle, president of Continental Tire. “We’re looking forward to providing a tyre that will give the fans the great racing they expect while also making it fun for the drivers. This series is action-packed and we can’t wait to get on track!”

“Continental Tire is an industry leader in technical tyre development,” added Colin Dyne, chief executive of Red Bull GRC. “As the official tyre supplier for the series, they will bring a new level of excellence and high performance to the events.”

The 2018 Red Bull Global Rallycross season will feature 12 rounds during eight events across the US. GRC competitors will debut Continental tyres for the season-opener in Louisville, Kentucky on 19th and 20th May.
