Spanish soccer giants Real Madrid have announced a partnership with technology company Samsung to create ‘premium’ video content for use on social media platform Twitter.

The one-year agreement will include ‘in-stream video sponsorships’ that will involve interviews with the La Liga outfit’s players, access to comments from the dressing room, press conference material, legendary goals, and training footage.

The video content, which will be sponsored by Samsung, will be available via Real Madrid’s official Twitter account.

"We are delighted that Real Madrid and Samsung bet on Twitter to bring quality video content that is very interesting for our users,” said Simone Tomassetti, director of sports for Twitter in Europe. “With agreements like this, users now access relevant content about what is happening in the format they like the most: the video.”

"From Samsung we wanted to take advantage of the close relationship that binds us both to Real Madrid and Twitter to be part of an initiative in which we can offer unique content related to the world of football and offer it to fans from a social platform also unique to be up-to-date on sports news,” added Alfonso Fernández, director of corporate marketing at Samsung Spain.

Real Madrid are currently second in La Liga and nine points behind league leaders Barcelona and will host Atlético Madrid on 8th April.

The reigning European champions won 3-0 away against Serie A side Juventus in the first leg of their Uefa Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday. They welcome Juventus to the Santiago Bernabéu for the second leg on 11th April.
