Top-flight French soccer side Racing Club Strasbourg have announced a new partnership with the Alila Group.
The housing company will benefit from visibility at the Ligue 1 outfit’s Stade de la Meinau home, and will work with the club to give more than 150 children an opportunity to attend games and participate during a training session with the first team.
The financial terms of the agreement have not been made public. The Alila Group is already a partner of another Ligue 1 side, Olympique Lyonnais.
“We are very pleased to welcome the Alila Group into our family of partners, with whom we share many values," said Marc Keller, president of RC Strasbourg. “The essence of football is the social bond. It is to meet all its audiences, to offer happiness and to share emotions, mainly with children, in the field as well as outside.”
Hervé Legros, chief executive of the Alila Group, added: “By getting closer to Racing, we wanted to be a real close partner. By our presence in the territory and our programmes, we already contribute to the economic fabric, but we also wish to act with those who live in our housing, especially with the youth. Becoming an engaged partner of Racing was natural.”
RC Strasbourg, who won promotion to the top flight after finishing first in Ligue 2 last year, are 17th Ligue 1 after 15 games, and play their next fixture at home to league leaders Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday.
