Indian sportswear brand Zeven has signed cricketer Ravindra Jadeja as its new brand ambassador.
The 28-year-old India international will lend his image to Zeven’s upcoming promotional campaigns and, in addition, will wear the company’s high-performance cricket boots. The challenger brand is co-owned by Indian tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi and it markets itself as ‘selling sport to the masses, irrespective of their gender, age or any other factor’.
The financial terms of the deal were not released.
"A player with exceptional quality and experience, we are certain Jadeja will help us in our mission of catalysing a billion Indians to get out and play a sport,” said Bhupathi. “As a brand, we are confident that Jadeja's credibility and image will help the brand in creating a longstanding association with the masses."
Jadeja added: "I strongly relate with the brand's philosophy to make sport an active part of every Indian's life and look forward to a long and fruitful association with Zeven."
Jadeja has risen to number two bowler in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) global Test rankings following a stellar series against England. India won a five-game series 4-0 with the spinner taking 26 wickets, including a career best 7-45 in the final innings at Chennai.
