Rai and Sportitalia extend broadcast deal with Serie C

Italian national public broadcasting station Rai and Italian sports-dedicated terrestrial channel Sportitalia have retained their broadcast rights to Serie C, Italian soccer’s third-tier league. 

The renewal will cover the next three Serie C seasons up to and including the 2019/20 championship. According to a Lega Pro official announcement, Rai won the 'National Package 1', with a bid of €650,000 (US$776,714)  per season, which amounts to a total of €1.95 million (US$2.3 million) over the three years. 

Sportitalia was awarded the 'National Package 2' and will pay Lega Pro €150,000 (US$179,238) for the first season, €175,000 (US$209,105) for the second and €200,000 (US$238,978) for the third.
