Qatar Airways has renewed its sponsorship agreement with the Saudi Arabian soccer side Al-Ahli Saudi FC for a further three years.
The carrier will continue to be the club’s official airline and front-of-shirt sponsor for both their home and away kits. It will also have a strong brand presence at Al-Ahli Saudi FC’s home ground, the King Abdullah Sports City.
The financial terms of the extension have not been released.
“We at Al-Ahli Saudi FC are honoured to embark on a new journey with Qatar Airways for another three years of partnership,” said Ahmed Al Marzouki, president of Al-Ahli Saudi FC. “During the past years we have reached several milestones, including winning the Saudi league and the King Cup, as well as taking part in the historic match of champions against FC Barcelona which attracted millions of football lovers around the region.”
Al-Ahli Saudi FC finished second in the top-tier Saudi Professional League.
Earlier this week, Qatar Airways was named as an official partner of soccer’s global governing body, Fifa. The sponsorship runs until 2022 and covers the next two editions of the Fifa World Cup, which will be hosted by Russia in 2018 and Qatar in 2022.
