Nova picks up Premier League rights in Bulgaria
Nova Broadcasting Group has acquired the exclusive audio-visual broadcast rights to the Barclays Premier League in Bulgaria for three years, starting next season.
The deal will see Nova, a subsidiary of the Modern Times Group, broadcast all 380 Barclays Premier League matches from the 2013/14 to 2015/16 seasons. No financial terms were announced.
“We are extremely pleased that Modern Times Group has won the rights to broadcast the Barclays Premier League in Bulgaria,” said Premier League chief executive, Richard Scudamore. “I am sure they will continue to deliver fantastic coverage of the League to our many Bulgarian fans.”
Nova Broadcasting Group chief executive Didier Stoessel added: “We are very happy that once again the Premier League TV rights have been entrusted to Nova Broadcasting Group. The Premier League is the most popular domestic club football league in the world and has a huge fanbase in Bulgaria. We will continue to provide our Bulgarian viewers and subscribers with the best possible coverage of the Premier League season with live match coverage, news and interviews.”
The announcement is the latest in a string of deals announced by the Premier League for its next rights cycle, with Canal + Cyfrowy acquiring the Polish rights and Canal Plus taking the rights in France.
