Nimbus to screen Sri Lanka’s clash with India

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and Nimbus Sport International, the sports management company, have reached an agreement giving the latter worldwide broadcast and sponsorship rights to the country's one-day international and Twenty20 meetings with India in February.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and Nimbus Sport International, the sports management company, have reached an agreement giving the latter worldwide broadcast and sponsorship rights to the country's one-day international and Twenty20 meetings with India in February.

"We hope that this partnership marks the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship with Sri Lanka Cricket," said Nimbus Sport executive vice president Yannick Colaco.

"As a sports marketing and production company, it has always been our aim to provide quality sports and cricketing action to the subcontinent and to the cricket fan worldwide."

Though SLC hoped to make US$10 million for the series, local press reports the eventual figure was around US$6 million.

Duleep Mendis, chief executive of the SLC board, said: "Nimbus Sport shares our passion for the growth of the game of cricket and, having worked closely with all Asian cricket boards, we are confident about partnering with them."
