Compression clothing brand Skins has entered into marketing partnerships with four National Hockey League (NHL) franchises – San Jose Sharks, Anaheim Ducks, St. Louis Blues and Dallas Stars.
The brand, which originates in Australia, becomes the official recovery compression of the four West Conference sides and will supply each team with equipment designed to improve rate of recovery and prevent injuries.
“With the accelerated schedule and increased travel of this lockout season, we have less time to recover between games,” said Mike Hannegan, assistant athletic trainer for the Anaheim Ducks. “Skins helps us recover and be ready for the next game in shorter time.”
Brad Jellis, strength and conditioning coach at the Dallas Stars, echoed Hannegan’s remarks: "The Skins recovery products are essential for our players' recovery and performance,” he said.
“With our demanding game and travel schedule, Skins allow players to recover quicker and be at their best for the next competition.”
Skins currently has marketing agreements with several sports organisations, including the Lotto Belisol professional cycling team and the Greater Western Sydney Giants AFL club.
