Top-tier Argentinian soccer side Newell’s Old Boys have announced a partnership with Umbro.
Under the terms of the deal, the British sportswear brand will replace Adidas as the Superliga Argentina outfit’s official kit supplier.
The length of Umbro’s contract has not been officially disclosed, but Argentinian media reports that the new deal will be valid for three years, with the new kit due to be provided on 22nd January 2018.
Adidas first partnered with Newell’s Old Boys in 2015, but the team expressed dissatisfaction with the kit.
The new agreement adds to Umbro’s portfolio of partnerships in Argentina, where it supplies sports equipment to top-tier soccer sides Atletico Tucumán , Estudiantes de La Plata and Velez Sarsfield.
Newell’s Old Boys are 20th in the Superliga Argentina, after claiming only three wins in their 12 games. They lost 3-2 away against Rosario Central on 10th December, and will host league strugglers Arsenal Sandari on 28th January.
