National Rugby League (NRL) outfit the Newcastle Knights have expanded their partnership with Mine Wealth + Wellbeing (Mine Super).
The financial services company will become a kit sponsor of the Australian rugby league club, with its logo to feature on the Knights’ playing shorts during the 2018 season.
Mine Super has been a partner of the team for the past four seasons, serving as their first choice superannuation fund.
The length and financial terms of the expanded deal have not been disclosed.
Australian news outlet the Newcastle Herald reports that the Knights’ kit deals will be worth a combined AUS$5.7 million (US$4.5 million) this year.
The Herald says that the news marks the first time the Knights have sold every available advertising spot on their kit.
“This partnership will allow us to showcase the great service we offer to members each and every day as well as build awareness of how we can help people achieve exceptional retirement outcomes,” said Harry Mitchell, chief executive of Mine Super.
“The position on the kit is visible recognition of the importance we place in being part of the community both here in Newcastle but also across the eastern seaboard, where a majority of the NRL teams compete.”
The Newcastle Knights will kick off the 2018 NRL season on 9th March when they host the Sea Eagles at their McDonald Jones Stadium.
