New sponsor for The Celtic Manor Open
The London-based bookmaker Ladbrokes has signed on as a sponsor of The Celtic Manor Open.
The new three-year deal, which was officially announced as a six-figure sum, is thought to be worth an estimated US$200,000 and sees the bookmaker joining fellow tournament sponsors, Zurich, Diageo, BMW, Rolex and Barclays Corporate.
Ladbrokes sportsbook director, Paul Witten said, "We're very excited to be teaming up with The Celtic Manor Wales Open this year and for the coming years. It's great to support an event which so closely fits our brand. Many of our clients will readily identify with the risk-and-reward challenges of The Twenty Ten Course and we look forward to a busy week in the tented village."
In return for sponsorship, the company will enjoy significant billboard exposure, on-course betting, tickets to the pre-tournament gala dinner, hospitality places and tickets to the US$2.5 million European tour event.
Celtic Manor marketing director, Gareth Rees Jones said, "It's great to welcome on board another sponsor of the calibre of Ladbrokes. They've been a major supporter of leading sporting events for many years and we're delighted to add them to our list of sponsors at The Celtic Manor Wales Open. It's one of the premier events on The European Tour but we're always striving to improve and develop the tournament. We would not be able to do this without the support of all our sponsors"
Running from the 3rd-6th June, The Celtic Manor Open is staged for the 11th time this summer and is played on the same Twenty Ten Course which will host the Ryder Cup in October.
