NBC has extended and expanded its coverage of the French Open for a further multi-year period.

Under terms of a revised deal with the French Tennis Federation, the network, which has aired France's Grand Slam tennis event continuously since 1983, will continue to broadcast the tournament on a multi-platform basis through 2024 meaning that by the end of this new contract period the French Open will have been broadcast on NBC for 42 consecutive years.

As part of the new rights agreement, financial terms of which were not released, NBC has agreed to ten more hours of live television coverage.

“The French Open is one of the world’s most celebrated sports events,” said NBC Sports president of programming Jon Miller. “This ground-breaking agreement will extend our relationship with Roland Garros through 2024, and provides tennis fans with more comprehensive coverage than ever before, including live streaming of more matches.”

FFT director of media and sponsorship Michel Grach added, "After 30 years of outstanding work in televising the French Open, the French Tennis Federation is thrilled to renew their American network agreement with NBC for a long term period. This new agreement will increase NBC's hours of coverage of the tournament, which will continue to build Roland Garros' American audience. NBC and FFT reinforce their partnership at a very strategic period in FFT's history with the start of the new stadium programme.”
