National Basketball Association (NBA) player John Wall has signed a personal endorsement deal with Kumho Tire USA.
The agreement will see the Washington Wizards point guard, 27, become the face of the South Korean tyre manufacturer’s national advertising campaign and several marketing initiatives across the US.
Wall, who is a five-time NBA All-Star, will also collaborate with the company, already the official tyre of the NBA, to launch the Kumho Tire Hip-Hop Handles competition, which will invite fans around the country to submit a 30-second video demonstrating their ball-handling skills and talents. Each of the three winners of the competition will receive a VIP experience at this year’s NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles.
“As the official tyre of the NBA, Kumho Tire decided to establish a partnership with one of the league's most explosive and dynamic players that shares and showcases our company's core values and attributes both on and off the court,” said Harry Choi, chief executive of Kumho Tire USA. “We are very excited to present John Wall as the designated ambassador of the Kumho Tire brand and amplify our partnership with the most transcendent and innovative professional sports league.”
“Posterising your opponent is one thing, but there's a level of excitement, style and self-expression that only great ball-handling delivers,” said Wall. “I personally love this Hip-Hop Handles programme because it allows fans to showcase a unique element of our game for a chance to win an incredible NBA All-Star experience.”
Wall’s Wizards side are fifth in the NBA’s Eastern Conference, and play their next game away to Oklahoma City Thunder on 25th January.
