Thai digital terrestrial broadcaster PPTV has acquired rights to the MotoGP motorcycling series.

The agreement will see PPTV provide live coverage of all 19 MotoGP races this season, meaning the championship will be available on both free-to-air and pay-TV in Thailand, where Fox Sports also holds rights.

The news comes ahead of Thailand’s first ever MotoGP race, which is due to take place at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram on 7th October.

“We want the Thais to be able to watch world-class motorcycle races in high definition throughout the year,” said PPTV president Surin Krittayaphongphun. “This is a significant move for Thailand's motorsport. I truly anticipate successful feedbacks from the fans.”
