The eight teams which make up Australia and New Zealand's National Basketball League (NBL) will continue to wear clothing supplied by Mitchell & Ness after the brand renewed its deal as the official apparel partner of the competition.
The agreement was initially struck in April last year to cover the ongoing 2016/17 NBL campaign, and has now been extended for a further two seasons. Mitchell & Ness, a wholly owned subsidiary of German sportswear giant Adidas, will provide on-court and off-court clothing to all teams in the league until the end of 2018/19.
As part of the news of the renewal, Mitchell & Ness also announced that it would be supplying all teams with a limited edition vintage 1990s-style kit for the NBL's upcoming 'Heritage Weekend,' which aims to celebrate the history of the league. All teams will wear jerseys based on those worn during a significant year in their history.
“Mitchell & Ness have a long history in knowing what works in sports retail and apparel while also having cutting edge expertise at their fingertips," said NBL chief executive Jeremy Loeliger. “We look forward to partnering with them for the next few years and think it is fitting to announce the partnership extension with the launch of the Heritage Jerseys which showcase iconic designs from the past.”
