Australian Football League (AFL) side the Melbourne Demons have renewed their apparel partnership with New Balance for a further three years.
The agreement, an extension of a deal originally announced in 2011, will see New Balance provide the Demons with training and matchday kits for the 2017 season.
The global athletics brand will remain in partnership with the Demons at least through to the conclusion of the 2019 AFL season. Financial details have not been released.
Ricky Knight, New Balance’s general manager of Pacific, said: “As a global brand built on a strong 110-year long history, New Balance set out over six years ago to be involved with a historical club that shared the same values as we do, and we are now delighted to enter into a third term with the Melbourne Football Club”
“We are immensely proud to have the continued backing of a global powerhouse brand in New Balance, and the technical benefits that their innovative products provide for our athletes,” added Melboune Demons’ chief executive, Peter Jackson. “The next three seasons will be very exciting for the club, its members, supporters and commercial partners, and we are optimistic about the possibilities they will present for this partnership.”
The Melbourne Demons’ 2017 AFL campaign gets underway against local rivals St Kilda on 25th March. Last year’s competition was won by the Western Bulldogs.
